2014 is shaping up to be a year of being super busy. I started working out finally in January, which has turned out to be super addicting; plus I've actually gained like 5 pounds! I accepted a new job offer at another shop in February, then got on with the fire department later in the month. Between the new job, going to the gym, and running calls/hanging around the fire station, I'm pretty much always on the move, but I'm not complaining :) Hopefully I can find some time at some point to do some painting.

Hard to believe it's less than three weeks till Christmas. Even harder to believe this year's almost over.

We've already started talking about another trip for 2014. It's looking like we'll be flying into Denver and traveling through the western US and Canada for about two weeks. I should be checking Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Washington off my list, at the very least. Really looking forward to taking pictures of the night sky in 'Big Sky Country'!

I'll also be going to Dayton, Ohio in August for another WWII reunion. We'll be driving, so I'll check off West Virginia, Ohio, and possibly Indiana off my list, as well. By the end of the year, I should only have half of the states left on my list of states to visit!

Other than traveling, it doesn't look like 2014 will be anything extraordinary. If all goes well, I may look at moving out, but that remains to be seen.

Woohoo, Autumn!

2 min read
Leaves are beginning to turn, my car is covered in dew every morning, and I can actually work without sweating buckets :dummy:

I've done LOTS of new things at work this past month and I'm getting to the point to where I'm not reluctant to just start pulling things apart to get them fixed. Quitting the 'Yota dealership was one of the best things I've ever done. I've decided to try to get my master technician certification by the end of this year, so I've got 4 cert tests to take (and pay for). I took the Virginia State Inspector's license test a few weeks ago, after studying for all of an hour...I passed with a 90La la la la So, by the end of this year, I should be a licensed Virginia State Inspector AND a master technician; I'll be like 10 years ahead in my career.

The new house is quite nice, though I'm dreading moving. Regardless, it'll be nice to have room in the basement for my tools, workbenches, and a darkroom, as well as a nice flat driveway for working on my vehicles!

Where is the time going? Gah, life is so hectic CURSE YOU!

Well August turned out to be a surprisingly good month!

:bulletblack:Got a new job at an independent auto shop, which has turned out to be quite the learning experience.
:bulletblack:My aunt gave me a bunch of B&W darkroom stuff.
:bulletblack:A friend found me a Nikon FG for $25 and a spare lens for $10.
:bulletblack:Found a new house.
:bulletblack:Applied to one of the local volunteer fire departments.
:bulletblack:Finally replaced the rusty, silty old fuel tank on my truck and got the gas gauge working.

And now this month:

:bulletblack:I'll have enough work experience to apply for my state inspector's license and ASE credentials.
:bulletblack:Closing on a new house
:bulletblack:Another trip to the Homestead, where I'll try out my new camera.

:)

Once again, I have a new website :P I don't know how many times I've made major changes, but this is the third time I've revamped it completely. I think I like it enough this time to keep it this way for a while. Tell me what you think :)
